Confidence! Sometimes this is lacking and sometimes we have to pretend we are a bit more confident than we are. Hollywood, have you ever heard the expression, "Fake it until you make it". Normally when we talk about stage fright, we think immediately about doing a speech. However, whether you are doing a speech, meeting a potential new client, going on a first date or to a party, going to court, you name it.
The thing to remember is that no matter who you are, at some point we have all suffered from "stage fright". The thing to keep in mind is that we are all human, we all have to do things from time to time that will cause our adrenaline to flow and our hearts to pump faster and our whole phsiological system to go into overdrive.
Remember, you are capable, you are worthy and you can do it. Think of your positives, we can always find negatives but concentrate on how good you are and why you are there. Would you be invited to that party if you were not wanted? Would you be giving that speech if you did not have something of value to say? If you do have to go to court, if you are innocent, that should make you feel better and if not, then you have to face your consequences but ...ultimately try and act confidently and remember you have a lot to offer and you will do well. Practice makes perfect!
Great post Zack!
ReplyDeleteMy question to you is what are some things people could do to actually BUILD their confidence through techniques etc to a point where they become natural at it and it just becomes their personality?
